Solo performances and Accompaniments

On 2nd March, 2013, Pt. keshab Kanti Chowdhury organized an evening of Indo-Tanzanian Fusion Music where the concert had begun with his traditional Tabla solo recital in a very rare rhythmic cycle called Shankar Taal, 19 beats followed by “Rhythmic Unity” – a combination of Hindustani (Northern) and Carnatic (Southern) Classical styles with Tanzanian traditional singing, instruments & drumming. The cross-over project was arranged and designed by Pt. Chowdhury in collaboration with Department of Fine and Performing Arts, University of Dar es Salaam.

On 27th January, 2013, Pt. keshab Kanti Chowdhury presented a traditional Tabla solo recital in Tintaal - 16 beats and a rare rhythmic cycle of 17 beats called Shekhar Taal at Morogoro city of Tanzania on the eve of Independence Day celebration.

On 1st December, 2012, Pt. keshab Kanti Chowdhury presented “Sur and Taal” (Melody & Rhythm) - a Percussion Orchestra by his disciples followed by Indo-Tanzanian Fusion of Music (Tabla – India with Saxophone & drums of Tanzania).

On 30th August, 2012, , Pt. keshab Kanti Chowdhury presented a Percussion Orchestra with his disciples on the occasion of FICCI-IMTD Exhibition in Dar-es-Salaam.

On 18th April, 2012, Pt. keshab Kanti Chowdhury presented a traditional Table solo recital in Jhap Taal – 10 beats and in Tintaal - 16 beats for Diplomatic spouses’ Association, Dar-es-Salaam.

On 10th December, 2011, Pt. Keshab Chowdhury presented Percussion Orchestra with his students for the program organised by TADA (Tanzania Asia Development Association) at Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.

On 7th December, 2011, Pt. Keshab Chowdhury presented Percussion Orchestra with his students on the eve of 50th Golden Jubilee year of Tanzania's Independence Day Celebration on 9th December, 2011. Hon. Minister of India for Science & Technology Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh was the chief guest for the function.

On 4th December, 2011, Bango Sangho (A Society) in association with High Commission of India, Tanzania organized 150th Centenary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore where Pt. Keshab Chowdhury had played different percussion and music for their Dance Drama "Shayama" written by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. He also composed and directed the entire music part of the drama.

On 23rd October, 2011, on the eve of Deepavali celebration organized by High Commission of India, Tanzania, Pt. Keshab Chowdhury presented Percussion Orchestra with his students.

On 16th, 17th, 18th and 20th September, 2011, Pt. Keshab Chowdhury played Tabla solo at different programs organized at Dar-es-Salaam and Arusha by High Commission of India, Tanzania.

On 15th August, 2011 at Indian Cultural Center, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania he performed solo Tabla at the concert organized by Kalamandalam Society in collaboration with High Commission of India, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania on the eve of 65th Indian Independence Day celebration on 15th August, 2011.

On 15th August, 2011 at Indian Cultural Center, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania his disciples from Indian Cultural Center, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania presented the first ever "Percussion Orchestra by Children" in African Continent on the eve of 65th Indian Independence Day celebration on 15th August, 2011.

On 30th January, 2010 at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi, India he organized a Percussion Orchestra by his disciples aged 7 & above followed by his Tabla solo, Percussion recital, Jal Tarang & a Classical Fusion with his team on Sitar, Sarangi and Santoor.

On 19th December, 2009 he performed with Sitar maestro Pt. Partha Das for National Archives of Doordarshan, New Delhi. It will be telecasted on DD1 National Channel soon. This program will be a history on Indian Rhythm since the compositions are based on 15.75 beats (quarter beat short to 16 beats), 6.75 beats (quarter beat short to 7 beats) and 11.25 beats (eleven & quarter beats).

In 2009, he presented a “Percussion Orchestra” by his disciples aged 7 & above at Kamani Auditorium (one of the most prestigious concert halls of India), New Delhi followed by his Tabla solo, Tabla Tarang & Classical Fusion with his team.

In 2008, recital of Percussion, Jaltarang, Tabla Tarang & Classical Fusion at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi with his team.

In 2006, Percussion, Jaltarang & Tabla Tarang recital at Poorva Sanskritik Kendra (PSK), New Delhi with his team.

In 2005, plyed Tabla Solo at Sala ONCE in Sevilla (Spain), and Percussion, Jaltarang & Tabla Tarang recital for Neemrana Music Foundation (France).

In 2004, led the ICCR sponsored 10- Member “Percussion Troupe” to perform in Russia, Oman, Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

In 2003, Performed Tabla solo as well Tabla with Kathak dance at Sala Caracol, Madrid (Spain), played Tabla solo at Sala Endanza Sevilla (Spain).

In 2002, Tabla solo at “RITMO VITAL–2002,” an International Percussion Festival at Madrid (Spain); and taught Tabla at Neopercusion School, Madrid (Spain).

In 2001, Played at Minsk Jazz Festival (Belarus) and at Tver Jazz festival (Russia) with JAZZ BASS THEATRE of Moscow; also played at Ezebsk Jazz Festival (Russia) with Group QUADRO of Moscow.

In 2000, Tabla Solo and accompaniment with Kathak dance at Sakhalin and Vladivostok, Russia.

In 1999, played a duet of Indian percussions with Caucasian percussionist at UNO program in Moscow, Russia.

In 1998, Played with Sarode maestro Pt. Sunil Mukherjee and Eminent Vocalist Pt. L. K. Pandit at Moscow State Conservatoire, Russia organized under UNESCO program

In 1997, Solo performance at the ISKCON program organized at Moscow (Russia), Solo at the International Festival under UNESCO program organized by Moscow State Conservatoire at Padolsk (Russia), played with Vidushi Sisirkona Dhar Chowdhury in Delhi.

In 1996, played with Padmashree Ustad Shafat Ahmad Khan at the “Taal Tarang” program organized by Sahitya Kala Parishad at Delhi Haat, in New Delhi. Also played with the most eminent Violinist of the country Vidushi Sisirkona Dhar Chowdhury in Delhi and played at the Delhi Tabla Vikas Parishad.

In 1995, Played at Radio Sangeet Sammelan (All India Radio Conference) from Pune Center; also performed at India International Centre, New Delhi.

In 1994, Played with the most eminent Vichitra Veena player Pt. Gopal Krishna in Punjab Bhavan, Chandigarh, India.

In 1993, Played with Pt. Partha Das on the occasion of “welcoming the UNO delegation” in New Delhi.

In 1992, Performed on the occasion of welcome reception of Prince Charles and Princes Diana of U.K. at Prime Minister’s house accompanying Sitar maestro Pt. Partha Das.
